Description

  • NEW 998cc Genesis Turbo Engine
The new Genesis 998 Turbo 3-cylinder engine delivers 800-class dominating performance in a compact package. The high tech engine system carries a full suite of features to ensure you have a great day on the snow and a fun night when you reach your destination. We use our advanced nine-sensor engine management system to control fuel flow for maximum performance, but it also incorporates a knock sensor to adjust ignition timing and even manifold pressure if the need should arise.
  • High Tech Turbo
The Nickel alloy turbine body is extremely strong and precise, able to withstand highly elevated temperatures. Supported by premium, ceramic ball bearings, the Inconel turbine blade assembly is very light and strong. This yields a low moment of inertia for lightning quick response to exhaust gas input.
  • NEW YSRC Clutching
Yamaha has well over a decade of experience in harnessing the unique power delivery of a high performance four stroke engine. For the hyper performance Sidewinder L-TX DX, we have developed a new YSRC roller secondary system to deliver aggressive upshifting while also backshifting quickly to keep you in the power. In addition, we slightly upsized the new secondary to overshift and let the Sidewinder L-TX DX stretch its legs on a long lake run.
  • HPG Coil-Over Front Shocks
High Pressure Gas (HPG) shocks with strong 40mm bodies are calibrated to deliver consistent performance and comfort with excellent fade resistance. Plus the shocks are rebuildable, ensuring you season after season of consistent performance with proper maintenance.
  • Heated Trail Seat
A standard heated seat provides the ultimate in warmth and comfort on even the coldest of winter days. A simple flip of the dash-mounted switch allows you to choose from two settings of warmth allowing you to explore what lies beyond that next curve from sun-up to sundown in complete comfort.
  • Standard Tall Windshield
Escape the wind and winter’s chill with a sculpted and contoured standard tall windshield. A small lip at the top deflects wind and snow up and over the rider, while flared edges provided added protection and warmth for your hands.

Performance

  • NEW 998cc Genesis Turbo Engine
The new Genesis 998 Turbo 3-cylinder engine delivers 800-class dominating performance in a compact package. • NEW Mitsubishi ECU
The Yamaha-developed Mitsubishi ECU uses a series of 9 sensors to gather running condition data and computes using its predetermined memory ‘map’. It then adjusts ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air-pressure and turbo boost pressure to produce maximum performance - reliably.
  • NEW Triple Throttle Bodies
Yamaha engineers wanted to develop a turbo so smooth and so quick to respond that it doesn’t feel like a conventional turbo. One of the ways they achieved their goal was to develop the intake system using three separate throttle bodies instead of just one— something that is not seen in any other production turbo on the planet. And another first for Yamaha with the Genesis turbo.
  • NEW Connecting Rod
Special, light weight, hardened carburized steel connecting rod design has the optimum strength required to produce maximum power. This new turbo-specific rod design uses nutted studs to join the close-tolerance, machined-faced big end. The rods are also treated with a special Defric coating for cold start protection, to ensure long life and maximum reliability.
  • Rip Saw II Track
Regarded as the best high-performance terrain track available, the 1.25-inch lug design of the RipSaw II delivers incredible acceleration, braking control, and handling in a wide variety of conditions.
  • Hayes Performance Brakes
A dual-piston brake caliper applies braking forces directly to the drive shaft and is mated to an oversized, lightweight drilled rotor. The unique radial brake master cylinder helps to deliver consistent “feel” in a wide variety of conditions while the oversized lever delivers greater braking force and feel with reduced effort.
  • Tuner III Skis
Our Deep Keel Tuner III Skis are engineered specifically for the SRV Chassis and the unique characteristics of the Sidewinder L-TX DX. They deliver reduced ski-pressure and near effortless steering; and the dual keel design delivers an assured “bite” in the corners with reduced darting. The design also allows you to customize the handling and feel of your sled with easy to change carbide runners in a variety of insert lengths for the inner and outer keel.

Handling

  • Lightweight SRV Front Suspension
The over-structure design of the SRV chassis creates a rigid mounting point for the unique 30-degree swept design of the SRV front suspension. The “angled” mounting design directs impacts back to the strongest points of the chassis, creating a more stable and predictable ride. Tall, lightweight forged spindles help to deliver an incredibly strong front suspension with controlled camber geometry for stability and light steering effort.
  • Dual Shock SR 137 Rear Suspension
The drop-link style Dual Shock SR 137 rear suspension is the cumulative result of years of punishment and development in snocross and cross-country competition. This “crossover” suspension offers premium bump compliance and control on trail, additional bump bridging capabilities thanks to its stretched length, and additional floatation and traction for occasional off-trail use. The SR 137 is a “coupled” suspension that utilizes a unique “sliding” front arm mount. With up to half-inch of movement at the front arm “slot”, the system allows the SR 137 to deliver controlled (reduced) ski-lift during acceleration while still retaining front arm bump compliance.
  • SRV Chassis
Sophisticated aluminum extrusions are joined with precision castings to create an incredibly strong, lightweight and rider intuitive chassis. The over-structure design provides rigidity and is designed to disperse severe impacts throughout the chassis making it exceptionally resilient.
  • Conjoined Rear Wheel-Set
A composite rear axle hub assembly is conjoined into a single hub design, making it both lighter and stronger than two separate wheels, resulting in less un-sprung weight for a more responsive rear suspension.

Comfort

  • HPG Rear Shocks
Premium High Pressure Gas shocks are found at both the front and rear arms of the rear suspension - tuned for premium control and comfort with incredible fade resistance. The shocks are also serviceable, allowing your authorized Yamaha dealer to recharge and refresh them for consistent performance season after season
  • Digital Gauge Package
The deluxe gauge package touts large, easy to read black on white digits, making it easy to keep track of vehicle and engine diagnostics even when navigating a drifted ditch-line or mogul littered trail. The easy to operate, technology packed display includes coolant temperature, exhaust temperature, intake air temperature, voltage, along with speed, rpm, altimeter, clock, fuel level, trip meters, and much more.
  • Push Button Reverse
Standard push button reverse actuates a servo-controlled reverse gear providing both comfort and convenience.
  • LED Taillight
The high-intensity LED taillight/brake light is lighter and brighter than a traditional incandescent design, and delivers a significantly longer lifespan.
